Vietnam Floods kill 23; damage estimated at 41 million dollars

Vietnam floods which have been wreaking havoc over the residents continue to get worse as death toll rises even further. As per reports, 16 more bodies were found which has further pushed the death toll to about 23 in all the four northern provinces.

Heavy rains had resulted in flash floods which had injured about 21 people. Not only this, 16 remained missing who was found a day before.

As per the Central Natural Disasters Committee, at least 228 homes have been destroyed in the floods. Not only this, several roads have also suffered immense damage along with crops as well as the irrigation system bearing the brunt. At least 5,000 soldiers, as well as police and residents have been mobilized for search of the missing ones.

As per reports by the government’s disaster agency, the damage has been estimated to be around 41 million dollars which happens to be around 940 million dong.

Due to the flooding rains in the region, the four provinces have been left in a crippled state and farms where rice and fruits are grown as well as water systems have suffered immense damage.

As per the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, roads are being fixed and other infrastructure is also being made sound so that life gets back to normal.
