Vidarbha receives good Monsoon showers, more in the offingThe state of Maharashtra is divided into four sub-divisions and all of these regions have varied rainfall patterns. Currently, out of the four sub-divisions, Vidarbha is the best performing region in entire Maharashtra.

At present, Vidarbha is witnessing a rainfall surplus of a whopping 36 percent making it fall in the excess rains category. The last 24 hours have also been good in terms of Monsoon rains with isolated areas recording very heavy showers.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Chandrapur recorded a whopping 119.5 mm of rain followed by Wardha where 56 mm of rainfall was recorded. Other areas to have received good rains include Bramhapuri 39 mm, Yawatmal 39 mm, and Nagpur 5 mm of rain.

Looking at the rainfall figures it seems like rain gods have been bestowing enough kindness over the Vidarbha region. These rains can be attributed to the trough which is running from Madhya Pradesh up to Telangana across Vidarbha.

The next 24 hours will also witness similar weather conditions as the trough is expected to persist. Good Monsoon rains will continue to lash Vidarbha during the next 24 to 48 hours. Rainfall intensity is expected to vary from moderate to heavy. During this period, the possibility of a few sharp spells over isolated areas cannot be ruled out.
