Heat wave has been gripping the state of Maharashtra for the past few days. Moreover, if we see the temperatures, Vidarbha is the hottest pocket as of now wherein, Chandrapur, Brahmapuri and Wardha are recording maximums around 45 degrees. Also, Nagpur and adjoining areas have also been witnessing maximums above 43 degrees.
Heat wave conditions in the state of Maharashtra are expected to last for another four to five days. Vidarbha being the hottest pocket in Maharashtra will continue to remain so. The reason being that Western Disturbance has moved away, and even the incoming ones will only be confined to the hills.
A trough is extending from Madhya Pradesh to Karnataka and the wind pattern is varied. There may be a possibility of isolated activity in parts of southern parts of Maharashtra but that will not result in any respite from heat wave conditions.
