Gujarat has been recording heavy to very heavy rains during the last 24 hours. As per the data available with Skymet, Ahmedabad has received 68 mm rain, while Veraval recorded 84 mm and Baroda observed 70 mm of rain during a span of 21 hours up to 5:30 am.

Now, we expect more rains and thundershower activities to continue over parts of Gujarat today. As a relief, the rain activities might start reducing tomorrow over the rain saturated state. Today also rains might reduce over Kutch region. Stations like that of Ahmedabad, Bhuj, Naliya, Dwarka, Kandla etc might see rains of reduced intensity September 12 onward.

However, tomorrow as well, light to moderate rains are expected over southern districts of Gujarat like Surat, Valsad, Bhavnagar, Mahuva, Amreli, Junagarh, Veraval, Porbandar and Navsari.

On September 13, we expect a significant decrease in rains over the entire Gujarat. By September 14, the weather will become almost dry.

Thereafter, we do not expect any significant rain activities to make a comeback over the state of Gujarat anytime soon. Thus, temperatures will once again start to rise along with clear skies. This will bring along the much-needed relief from the ongoing rains.

However, on and off rains are expected to continue with light intensity with one or two moderate spells over southern districts of Gujarat like Surat, Valsad, Navsaari, Panchmahal, Dang, Chotta Udaipur etc.
