Foggy mornings have become a regular feature in several parts of North India and other parts of the country as well. So much so that visibility continues to be affected. The capital city of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow continues to be affected today as well.
Today, during the early morning hours Lucknow reported very dense fog with the visibility dropping at a mere 50 metres. In fact, Varanasi also observed thick fog where the visibility was also at 50 metres. The national capital woke up to a very foggy morning with the visibility being nil.
As far as other areas are concerned, Agartala also recorded very dense fog at 50 metres. However, Amritsar witnessed better weather conditions with the fog being shallow at 900 metres.
Air and rail traffic has been severely affected with at least 137 trains being delayed throughout the country. Flight services have also taken a hit with at least 8 flights including both arrivals and departures to and from Delhi being cancelled. Not only this, there have been ten delays as well.
At present, a Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir and Cyclone Vardah is in Southeast Bay of Bengal moving towards South Andhra Coast. As and when these weather systems move away, fog conditions will worsen over North and East India.
