The state of Uttar Pradesh woke up to a foggy morning on Christmas day this year. In fact, many parts of the state witnessed very dense fog with the visibility dropping to nil.
Foggy morning had taken a backseat during the last few days, but today morning, except the southern parts of Uttar Pradesh, almost the entire region of Uttar Pradesh observed moderate to dense fog.
The visibility in the city of Gorakhpur, Moradabad, Lucknow, and Bahraich was recorded to be nil. Meanwhile, conditions were not any better in Bareilly where the visibility had dropped to a mere 50 metres during early morning hours.

These weather conditions can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation which has developed over eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh. Due to this circulation, winds became weak and moisture incursion in the form of light winds from Bay of Bengal were taking place over the region.
Temperature in this region are already very low along with which light winds resulted in dense to very dense fog over most parts of the state.
Tomorrow, then maybe some improvement in the fog situation. However, dense to very dense fog will study continue to prevail in many parts.
