As reiterated by Skymet Weather, dense to very dense fog engulfed several parts of East Uttar Pradesh and North Madhya Pradesh. On Wednesday morning, Allahabad and Gwalior reported very dense fog with visibility dropping to nil.
This was followed by Varanasi with lowest visibility of 50 meters and Lucknow with 100 meters.
Rest of the areas of the states as well as parts of Bihar and Jharkhand also reported moderate fog. Ranchi woke up to fairly clear morning today as lowest visibility reported was around 800 meters. In wake of this, around 103 trains plying in these regions are running behind the schedule.
According to Skymet Weather, dense to very dense fog will continue to grip parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and North Madhya Pradesh for another 24 to 48 hours. A cyclonic circulation had been prevailing over East Uttar Pradesh, which has been infusing moisture over the region.
We do not expect much changes in the weather conditions during the next few days as well.
Meanwhile, northern plains continue with moderate to shallow fog in pockets. Delhi reported lowest visibility of 300 meters, due to which at least 22 flights were delayed – 12 in departure and 10 in arrival.
Majority of the places across northern plains remained fog free, with fair visibility conditions.
