Vaishno Devi: Weather forecast for Navratri 2017

The nine-day religious festival of Navaratri is starting from September 21. It is the most auspicious festival of the Hindus and is celebrated for nine long days. During these nine days, the goddess is worshiped and cultural programs are organized across the country. During this time, hundreds of pilgrims head to the Vaishno Devi temple in Jammu and Kashmir to seek blessings of the goddess as it is considered one of the holiest places.

So, let us have a look at the weather forecast for the Hindu shrine of Vaishno Devi during these nine auspicious days. Since many days the weather across the shrine has been clear and dry. Now the good news is that weathermen are not expecting any significant changes in the weather during the next few days as well.

According to Skymet Weather, the weather is most likely to remain clear for the next three to four days and there are no chances of rain during that time. Hence, the pilgrims who are planning to visit the temple during that time will not face any difficulty while walking up to the temple. However, devotees reaching Vaishno Dham on 23rd and 24th September may isolated light rain.

Thereafter, as per Skymet Weather experts, the Monsoon will become weak again and isolated light rain may be recorded on September 25, whereas between September 26 and 29, the weather will go mainly dry.

September 21, Thursday: Maximum temperature - 28° C, minimum temperature - 15° C. The weather will be mainly dry and pleasant, with mainly sunny sky.

September 22, Friday: Maximum temperature - 28° C, minimum temperature - 16° C. The weather will be mainly dry and pleasant, with mainly sunny sky.

September 23, Saturday: Maximum temperature - 26° C, minimum temperature - 16° C. Sky will be partly cloudy with chances of isolated light rainfall for short duration.

September 24, Sunday: Maximum temperature - 25° C, minimum temperature - 14° C. Sky will be partly cloudy with chances of isolated light rainfall for short duration.

September 25, Monday: Maximum temperature - 24° C, minimum temperature - 14° C. Sky will be partly cloudy with chances of isolated light rainfall for short duration.

September 26, Tuesday: Maximum temperature - 26° C, minimum temperature - 14° C. Sky will be partly cloudy but the weather will be dry and pleasant.

September 27, Wednesday: Maximum temperature - 28° C, minimum temperature - 15° C. Sky will be partly cloudy. The weather will be dry and pleasant.

September 28, Thursday: Maximum temperature - 28° C, minimum temperature - 15° C. The sky will be clear and day will be hot and dry.

September 29, Friday: Maximum temperature - 29° C, minimum temperature - 15° C. The sky will be clear, with hot and dry day.

The weather will be mainly clear and will be favorable for the devotees heading to Vaishno Dham except September 23-24. If you are in the temple premises during this time, then you have to be cautious because there might be difficulties in climbing the stairs. There are no chances of landslides or heavy rain and hence, it will be a good time to visit the temple.
