A fresh Western Disturbance is approaching North Pakistan and adjoining Afghanistan. The system is likely to affect northern parts of Jammu and Kashmir by noon today. Areas close to Srinagar and Vaishno Devi are likely to remain cloudy for the day.
There is all possibility of rain and snow in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and parts of Uttarakhand during the next 24 to 48 hours. However, this spell is not going to be widespread. Mainly light activity is expected this time with a few moderate spells. This spell is going to be less intense than the last one as the causing Western Disturbance is weak.
Meanwhile, the minimum and the maximum temperatures are going to rise today during the day but tomorrow onward they will begin to drop.
Currently, most parts of Jammu and Kashmir are running dry with only some isolated activities over the higher reaches.
Already freezing temperatures are being observed over the region with Srinagar recording a minimum temperature of - 3.7 degree Celsius, Leh -18 °C, Jammu 4.8 °C, Chamba 0.6 °C, Dharamsala 2.1 °C, Manali -2.8 °C and Solan recorded a minimum temperature of 0.4 °C during the last 24 hours.
