The state of Uttarakhand has been witnessing dry weather conditions for the past few days. However, rain gods have been kind enough to give good rains over the region during the last 24 hours. In fact, several parts of Uttarakhand have also recorded hail storm as well.

During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Mukteshwar Kumaon received a good 6 mm of rain, Tehri also received 6 mm of rainfall during the same time-frame. Not only this, areas including Mussoorie, Yamunaghat, Naugon and Purola received some rainfall as well.

A few areas also recorded a few spells of hailstorm as well. In fact, areas including Purola, Pithoragarh, and Almora witnessed hail during the aforementioned time period.

These weather conditions can be attributed to the presence of a weather system in the form of a Western Disturbance. The system is presently over Jammu and Kashmir and its adjoining areas.

While good rains were recorded during the last 24 hours, the amount of rains are likely to reduce in the coming 24 hours. However, light rainfall will continue over the hilly state. Hailstorm activity will take a backseat. Good rains will continue over the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir as well as Himachal Pradesh during the next 24 hours.
