Since the last few days, northern hills of India had been witnessing good rains. The weather conditions over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand remained pleasant during this week. The sky is expected to become partly cloudy and gradually the cloud cover will increase over many parts of northern hills.
In the span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Hamirpur recorded 24 mm of rainfall, Jammu 16.6 mm, Dharamsala 16.2 mm, Una 14.8 mm, Dehradun 5 mm, Katra 4.8 mm, Pantnagar 2.4 mm and Nainital 2 mm.
According to Skymet Weather, a feeble Western Disturbance is seen over North Jammu and Kashmir. A trough is also seen extending from Northwest Punjab up to eastern parts of the country which is passing through foothills of Uttarakhand. Due to these systems, some parts of South Uttarakhand may receive moderate rains. Northern parts of this regions are likely to witness isolated light rains during the next 24 to 48 hours.

However, rainfall activities over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh will remain subdued for next 24 to 48 hours. These weather systems may continue to prevail for another few days. Meanwhile, most parts of northern hills of India such as North Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh will remain dry for next two to three days. Chances of landslides and waterlogging cannot be ruled out.
Moreover, this is the ideal period for the tourists to visit northern hills of India.
