After remaining dry for quite a long time, rains are all set to make a comeback over Uttar Pradesh. According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, scattered light to moderate rain and thundershowers have been witnessed over several parts of the state since Tuesday morning.
A cyclonic circulation, prevailing over North Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Uttar Pradesh, is responsible for the rainy spell. Initially for next 24 to 48 hours, it will cover areas of Southwest and Central Uttar Pradesh that includes major cities such as Agra, Lucknow, Ferozabad, Hamirpur, Jhansi, Kanpur and Etawah.
Thereafter by December 02 evening, weather system will move eastwards and with this, rain belt will also shift and cover parts of East Uttar Pradesh. Allahabad, Kaushambi, Chitrakoot, Mirzapur and Sonbhadra will receive rain.
In wake of the rain activity, maximum temperatures will register a drop by two to three degrees. However, minimum temperatures will witness a marginal rise of one or two degrees.
With this, diurnal variation of temperatures will also narrow down. Diurnal variation is the difference between the maximum and minimum temperatures.
Therefore, these rains will give winter chill to the people during next couple of days in spite of rise in night temperatures.
