At present, Uttar Pradesh is one of the few states of country to witness some good Monsoon showers.

According to Skymet Weather, fairly widespread light to moderate rains were recorded across the state during the last 24 hours. Few places have also received heavy showers.

All thanks to the low pressure area which was prevailing over Chhattisgarh and adjoining Jharkhand region. Following are the rainfall figures observed across Uttar Pradesh in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday.

Further, we can expect these showers to continue over the state during the next 24 to 48 hours. However, intensity of rain will now increase over central and western parts of the state, while it will decrease over East Uttar Pradesh.

As per the weathermen, the low pressure area is gradually shifting towards North Madhya Pradesh. With this, the rain belt will also shift but light rains cannot be ruled out over eastern parts of the state.

At present, the cumulative rainfall deficiency for East Uttar Pradesh is at 6%, while West Uttar Pradesh is witness surplus rainfall by 7%.
