Uttar Pradesh has not witnessed a single spell of good rain during this pre monsoon season. There were isolated light rain spells over Northwest Uttar Pradesh. This is evident from the rain statistics of the state. Between March 21 and April 19, east Uttar Pradesh has not received any pre monsoon activity. Therefore, it is deficient by 100%. west Uttar Pradesh has witnessed isolated rain and thunderstorm during second week of April, and it is deficient by 99%. Uttar Pradesh remains one of the driest states during this pre monsoon season.
A cyclonic circulation may develop over Bihar and Jharkhand and a trough will extend up to Uttarakhand across Northern parts of Uttar Pradesh. Sky may become partly cloudy to cloudy over many parts of the state on April 20. There are chances of isolated thunderstorm and dust storm over Western parts. Intensity and spread of monsoon activities may increase on April 21st.
There are chances of thunderstorm, dust storm and isolated light rain over parts of Agra, Aligarh, Mathura, Bareilly, Faizabad, Gorakhpur, Bahraich, Gonda, Siddharth Nagar and Khushi Nagar area. Many other districts may also experience mild thunderstorm or cloudy weather.
Cloud cover and pre monsoon thunderstorm will be instrumental in decreasing the maximums over many parts of the state. Heat wave conditions will abate and there will be marginal relief for at least next 2 to 3 days. Temperatures will increase again, and heat wave conditions may make a comeback by April 24th.
