Usually, in the month of March, the rainfall activities remain lesser in the state of Uttar Pradesh. But this time, the scenario has been totally different as Uttar Pradesh has been experiencing good rain and thundershower activities for the past few days.
From March 1, until March 10, the state has recorded 23.6 mm of rainfall against the normal of 2.5 mm. In the wake of good rains, the state of Uttar Pradesh is standing rain surplus by 844%.
The reason for good rain and thundershower activities can be attributed to the presence of intense Western Disturbances further which induced a cyclonic circulation over the northern plains. This system continued to move in the eastward direction, following which plenty of rains have been observed in the entire state of Uttar Pradesh.
During the last 24 hours, many parts of the state experienced light rains. But now, a trough is extending from the northern plains up to Bihar across Uttar Pradesh.
Due to the presence of the above weather system, we expect rains to increase in Uttar Pradesh. The state is expected to observe fairly widespread rain in many parts until the afternoon of March 12.
Thereafter, the intensity of rains will slightly start decreasing but the successive Western Disturbances will continue to enhance the ongoing weather activities.
We can also say it as another fresh spell of good rain and thundershowers is expected on March 13 and 14.
On March 15, the weather will start clearing up and the maximums which would have dropped by 3-4 degrees due to rain and cloud cover will start rising again.
