During the last 24 hours, good rains and thundershowers occurred over northern parts of Punjab and in isolated pockets of North Haryana as well as Northwest and West Uttar Pradesh. Isolated rains and thundershowers were witnessed over northern parts of Delhi and NCR also. While Ambala received 7 mm rains during the last 24 hours, Patiala 7 mm, New Delhi 1 mm, Bareilly 1 mm, Lucknow 12 mm, Varanasi 18 mm, and Nowgong recorded 3 mm rains.
Now, the rain activities will gradually subside but today we expect West Uttar Pradesh to continue seeing rains. We expect these rain activities to remain confined over northern districts of Punjab, Haryana as well as Northwest Uttar Pradesh.
By tomorrow, there will be a significant decrease in rains over Punjab and Haryana. However, Northwest Uttar Pradesh may continue to receive light rains and thundershowers tomorrow as well.
By late evening or night of March 15, the weather activities will clear up from entire Northwest India including Northwest Uttar Pradesh.
So, temperatures are expected to remain below normal over most parts of Northwest India until tomorrow. Thereafter, from March 16, temperatures will once again start increasing and may cross 30 degrees in the coming few days. By March 19 or 20, Delhi and NCR may also witness observe day temperatures around 30 degrees. We do not expect any rain activities over Northwest Rajasthan during this period.
