The eastern states of India have been receiving dry weather conditions for a prolonged period now, as no significant weather system is seen effecting over the region. In fact, during the winter months of December and January hardly any weather activity is observed over East India.

Talking mainly about Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, both the states are also witnessing dry weather conditions with cool nights since the last few days.

At present, northwesterly winds are continuing to blow over both these states. These winds are dry and cool in nature. Thus, temperatures over most places in these states are gradually decreasing.

During the morning hours, due to the coolness of atmosphere, shallow to moderate fog is observed over many places of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

However, the western parts of Uttar Pradesh including places such as Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Agra, Kanpur, Bulandshehar, Baghpat and Kanpur are being affected by pollution as light wind are prevailing over all these places.

Further also during the coming days, we expect no significant change in in wind and weather pattern is likely. Thus, we can say that, night temperatures over both most parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar will continue to drop further as winters have approached over most parts of the country.
