Since the last many days, on and off rains are continuing over Odisha. All weather systems which originate over Bay of Bengal have been travelling in westerly direction and giving rains over Odisha. Now, in terms of rains, due to absence of any significant weather system, there will be reduction in the rainfall activities.

However, the axis of Monsoon Trough is passing over Balasore. The Cyclonic Circulation is over North Bay of Bengal, will induce a low-pressure area over North Bay of Bengal. This Low-Pressure Area will move in westerly direction.

Thus, there are chances of marginal increase in rainfall activities on August 30, August 31 onward there will be significant increase of rainfall activities over Odisha and these moderate showers with isolated heavy rains will continue until September 3 on a on and off basis.

On September 2 and 3, intensity of rains will increase over southern districts of Odisha including Prajapati, Ganjam, and Koraput.

By the end of first week of September, the state of Odisha will become rain surplus and this Monsoon is turning out to be very good for the state. However, exceptionally heavy rains have not been seen over the state and no significant depression or deep depression has travelled via Odisha, sparing it from the fury of hefty Monsoon showers.
