Upcoming Low Pressure area in Bay to batter East India with more rainsDuring the Monsoon season, all the systems that form in the Bay of Bengal are spaced in a way that each system takes about one week right from its inception to fizzling out. It takes two days to organize itself, and about four more days to travel inland.

The existing low-pressure area over Bihar and has remained over the region for the last few days now. In fact, it is now getting weaker and will fizzle out in the next two days.

Now, a cyclonic circulation has formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha. The system is expected to strengthen further and percolate downward. Thus, a low pressure is expected to form in another 48 hours.

This system is expected to follow a more northward track in the initial phase moving towards Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and furthermore towards Madhya Pradesh.

Thus, rainfall activity is expected to occur over the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Once again, Maharashtra will be spared from these rainfall activities.

Currently, the daily average Pan India rain is between 8 and 9 mm, which is quite a huge number to cover. Though rains have been occurring over the eastern and some central parts, other areas have received less rains which is why, they are failing to cover up the deficiency.

This system will once again reduce rains over Northeast India. Along with this, rains over West Coast will remain on the lower side. Both these areas are major contributors of Monsoon rains, thus deficiency will continue.
