The state of Kerala has not seen good rains for quite some time now. In fact, this Monsoon season has been a very disappointing one for Kerala. The most deficient region of the country at present is the Southern Peninsula.

So far, the state of Kerala happens to be rainfall deficient by 45 percent as Monsoon rains have been on the lower side throughout. Hefty Monsoon rains in Kerala have not yet made an appearance and rains have only been on the moderate side.

However, there has been some good spell of rainfall in Kerala. In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Kannur recorded 35 mm of rains, Kochi 25 mm, Kozhikode 17 mm, Thiruvananthapuram 15 mm, Alappuzha 11 mm, Thrissur 8 mm, Punalur 5 mm, and Karipur 9 mm.

Now, during the next 48 hours also, there are chances that the state of Kerala may see light to moderate rainfall activities. Moreover, some parts may see some heavy showers as well. Due to these rainy spells, there may be some reduction in the deficient figures of the state of Kerala.
