Southwest Rajasthan has observed unusual rains for the second consecutive day. Barmer has again topped the list by recording 36 mm of rain, followed by Jaisalmer 14 mm in a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday. Sri Ganganagar and other parts of West Rajasthan, during the same span, have recorded light rainfall activities.
According to our meteorologists, this trend would continue as the state stands a chance to see some unusual showers today as well. The western districts of Rajasthan would witness light to moderate rain today.
The famous tourist destinations of Jaisalmer, Barmer and Jodhpur would observe light rain with one or two moderate spells during the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the capital city Jaipur and its adjoining areas may observe partly cloudy sky conditions, however, chances of any significant rainfall activity are less.
These weather conditions can be attributed to the induced Cyclonic Circulation over West Rajasthan in the wake of a Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir. This system is now moving away eastwards and as a result, the effect of its induced Cyclonic Circulation would also fade away, probably by tomorrow.
Thus, after 24 hours, rain would taper in the region and northerly winds would resume which would lead to a drop in the night temperature.
