In the wake of Cyclone Maha, there were scattered light rains in southeastern parts of Rajasthan. Other parts of Rajasthan have been witnessing mostly dry weather conditions for the last few days.

Now, as per weathermen at Skymet Weather, another spell of unseasonal rains are all set to occur over Rajasthan, which will occur due to the formation of induced Cyclonic Circulation over South Pakistan and adjoining Southwest Rajasthan. A trough will also extend from Central Pakistan to Northeast Arabian Sea. Moreover, the southwesterly winds, strong in intensity will feed moisture up to the upper levels, around 300 hpa over Gujarat and Western Rajasthan.

This will increase the moisture feed over Gujarat and Rajasthan leading to scattered rains and thundershowers over West Rajasthan. Cities of Barmer, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Nagore, Pali, Churu, Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh may receive light to moderate rains. Intensity of rains will be more over the southwestern cities of Rajasthan, which are adjacent to Gujarat.

These rains will be seen on November 13 and 14, with the intensity going down on November 15. However, isolated pockets may see light rainfall. By November 16, the Trough will fade away resulting in the clearance of weather.

During this time, rains are rare over these parts of Rajasthan. Northern parts still see showers due to the effect of Western Disturbance, which induce Cyclonic Circulation over North Rajasthan. Rains over Southwest Rajasthan are unusual for this time of the year.
