Southwest Monsoon has already withdrawn from most parts of the country particularly from the northwest region including Gujarat.
As the rains have stopped pouring over most of the regions of the country, dry weather conditions also started prevailing over entire Gujarat.
However, from last 2 days, incidents of fog had been reported to appear over the northwest parts of Kutch region of Gujarat in the morning hours particularly over Naliya.
In fact, as per 7:30 am today, Santa Cruz observatory in Mumbai also reported a short-lived fog formation. The visibility over runway number 010 dropped to 100 meters. Though as the fog formation was for a shorter period of time, it did not cause any delay in flights.
As per Skymet Weather, this is an unusual weather condition that is not very common during the month of October. Visibility seldom drops below 2000 meters. However, mostly the northern and eastern parts of the country are affected by haze.
The reason for this unusual appearance of fog over Naliya is the blowing of warm and moist winds from the Arabian Sea over the cooler surface leading to advection fog.
But as of now, as the wind are changing again, so no more fog formation are foreseen to form over coastal areas of Gujarat.
