Untimely rains in Mumbai during the last 24 hours have paved from for some comfortable weather conditions over the maximum city. According to Skymet Weather, although rains were very light in the nature but they were conducive for bringing down the maximum temperatures.

Maximum temperatures that have been settling around 34 or 35 degree Celsius, dropped significantly by at least 3-4 degrees. Wednesday as well as Thursday saw day maximums hovering around 31 degrees, which is almost a degree below the normal average temperature.

With this, Mumbaikars got huge relief from hot and humid weather due to persisting clouding. We expect day maximums to be under check for the next two days.

According to weathermen, usually Mumbai witnesses winds from land during this time of the year, which are hot in nature. However, with series of weather systems effecting Mumbai weather, wind pattern had changed and were now blowing from the sea. These winds were comparatively cooler in nature, resulting in drop in day maximums.

But now all the effecting weather systems have become insignificant.  The low pressure in southwest Arabian Sea has now moved far away. Similarly, the cyclonic circulation over Gujarat has now become less marked and the anti-cyclone has further moved eastwards. Though a trough is still seen along the West Coast, but it is just falling short of North Konkan coast.

With this, land winds would return and slowly and steadily, day temperatures would crawl back to the normal, But till then, Mumbai can witness relief from sultry afternoons.
