Unseasonal rains to lash parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar once again

Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and east India witnessed unseasonal rain in the month of December and January. Hailstorm activities were also witnessed over parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Bihar during last week. Unseasonal rain sometimes damage the standing crop.

Cyclonic circulation in the wake of successive western disturbances were responsible for rain activities over Rajasthan and Gujarat. Confluence zone which developed due to merging of south westerly winds from Arabian Sea and South easterly winds from Bay of Bengal was responsible unseasonal rain over Central part and east India.

Rain activities are expected to commence once again over Northern and Eastern parts of Rajasthan and north Madhya Pradesh on January 21 and may continue until January 22nd. Parts of east Uttar Pradesh may also witness scattered rain on January 21st. Rain belt is expected to reach over parts of Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal on January 22nd and 23rd. Northeast India may also witness rain between January 22nd and 24.

Upcoming rain will follow the similar pattern. Rain activities will commence over a Rajasthan and cross entire country from west to east and reach Northeast India.
