Rainfall activity have shifted base from the northern parts to the eastern region as well as a few central parts of the country including Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, a few parts of Maharashtra as well as Chhattisgarh along with Telangana.
In fact, in the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Angul saw 34 mm of rains, Nagpur 29 mm, Gondia 25 mm, Hanamkonda 37 mm, Ramagundam 27 mm, Jamshedpur 22 mm, Sambalpur 21 mm, Jagdalpur 18 mm, Midnapore 28 mm etc.
Now, rains are expected to continue over Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh for at least three days or so. Meanwhile, rains in Jharkhand including Ranchi and Jamshedpur are expected to continue for the next 24 hours. For Maharashtra, rains will ease out after today
For Telangana cities including Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari in Andhra Pradesh will see rains.
Unsettled weather pattern over central parts is responsible for rains over these regions. A Cyclonic Circulation is over Konkan and Goa, another dry circulation over North Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Delhi region. Thus, winds are converging from both Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal.
