Unseasonal rains may once again lash central part of the country

Unseasonal rain activities were witnessed during last week of December over parts of Gujarat South Rajasthan Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. New year may commence with unseasonal rain over Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

Strong Western disturbance is expected to approach Western Himalayas by January 4th. This will induce cyclonic circulation over Central part of Pakistan and adjoining Punjab and Haryana. Rain and thunder showers are expected to begin over parts of Punjab, Rajasthan and isolated pockets of Gujarat by January 4. Rain will cover most parts of Rajasthan and North Madhya Pradesh by January 5th and 6th. There are chances of isolated hailstorm over Rajasthan during this period.

Rains will start diminishing from western parts of Madhya Pradesh from January 7. Light rain is possible at few places over east Madhya Pradesh part of Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha on January 7.

Day temperatures will drop by 2-4 degree. However, minimums will increase by 3-4 degree over these States.
