Monsoon has withdrawn from parts of West Rajasthan but this year we expect withdrawal of Monsoon to get delayed from East Rajasthan. Monsoon 2022 was very generous for Rajasthan. In fact, West Rajasthan which usually remains dry has received 57% surplus rain. On the other hand, East Rajasthan remained surplus by 24%.
Now we do not expect any rain for western parts of Rajasthan, however, eastern Rajasthan is going to witness moderate to heavy rain in the latter part of this week. Winds will change direction from north-westerly to easterly and North-easterly over Rajasthan.
Humid winds from the Bay of Bengal will increase the moisture content. Eastern districts will have partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions from October 5th. There are chances of light to moderate rain on October 6th and 7th over eastern districts of Rajasthan.
Isolated pockets may witness short intense spells of rain. The affected districts may be Alwar, Bharatpur, Dhaulpur, Karauli, Sawai Madhopur, Tonk, Bundi, Kota, Jhalawar, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, Dungarpur, Banswara, Udaipur and Chittorgarh.
The weather will start clearing up October 8 onward. These activities will certainly delay the withdrawal of monsoon from eastern parts of the state. Withdrawal of monsoon from East Rajasthan is expected around October 11 or 12.
