A fresh Western Disturbance has induced a cyclonic circulation over the southern parts of Pakistan and adjoining south-west Rajasthan. Moreover, humid winds from the Arabian Sea are also feeding moisture towards the Gujarat region.
In the presence of all these significant weather systems, we expect scattered rains to commence from today onwards in many parts of Gujarat.
On and off rain and thundershowers would continue until the morning hours of March 27. The intensity of rains would be initially over Saurashtra, Bhuj, Kutch, Banaskantha, Palanpur, Patan, Morbi, and Surendranagar.
The rain belt is also expected to cover many other parts of Gujarat such as Gandhinagar, Dahod, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Surat, Valsad, and etc.
Though, we can say that many parts of the Gujarat region are now all set to observe rain and thundershower activities.
Also, if these rains would be associated with strong gusty winds, then it would be considered as a darker side, as it may further damage the standing rabi crops that are now ready for harvesting. But as predicted by our meteorologists, the rains are expected to remain patchy. Therefore, the damage to the standing crops may remain contained in isolated pockets only.
