On and off rains were witnessed over most parts of Central India particularly over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh as well as Southeast Madhya Pradesh during entire March. However, since the last two days, the weather of these states has gone completely dry.
Now, again the weather activities will resume over Vidarbha, Southeast Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh due to the formation of a Confluence Zone. At present an anti-cyclone is persisting over West central Bay of Bengal and its impact will be seen over Central India in terms of moisture incursion from Bay of Bengal. Due to this moisture incursion, a Confluence Zone is likely to develop. This Confluence Zone will be due to the merging of Southeasterly humid winds from Bay of Bengal with Northwesterly dry winds from North.
So, we expect rain and thundershower activities to resume over Vidarbha, Southeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining parts of Chhattisgarh by today evening. These rain activities will intensify by tomorrow.
A few intense spells with chances of lightning strikes and hailstorm are likely over Vidarbha, Southeast Madhya Pradesh as well as Chhattisgarh. South and Southwest Madhya Pradesh may also get isolated rains and thundershower activities by tomorrow. A few major places like Bhopal, Betul, Hoshangabad and Dewas may also receive rains. So, these weather activities will continue for at least the next three to four days with varied intensity.
Vidarbha, Central parts or Chhattisgarh and East and Southeast Madhya Pradesh will be the mainly affected areas. However, northern and Northwest districts of Madhya Pradesh will remain dry.
So, we can say that unseasonal rains during this pre-Monsoon season will continue over these states.
