The city of Mumbai usually becomes completely dry after the departure of Southwest Monsoon. So much so that the city’s monthly rainfall average during the non Monsoon months is in single digit itself.
Rains are observed over Mumbai during these months are only in terms of a weather system developing in the Arabian Sea and coming closer to the coast of Maharashtra including Mumbai.
Currently, a similar situation exists wherein, a well marked low pressure area is persisting over Arabian Sea. Moreover, the peripherals of the system are reaching along the coast of Konkan, resulting in likely rains over Mumbai.
Therefore, the city of Mumbai is likely to see some sprinkles of rain tonight. On the other hand, one can expect good rains to be seen over the capital city of Maharashtra tomorrow and on November 19, ranging between light to moderate.
Rainfall activity may extend to later on November 20, but only sprinkles are expected on that day. The rainfall activities that are expected in Mumbai will not be heavy, which is why no rainy woes are likely. In fact, these rains may be a slight relief from the overly humid weather Mumbaikars are battling.
