Britain is heading for some freezing weather in the coming days ahead. All thanks to the remnants of Storm Lorenzo that is likely to batter United Kingdom, this weekend. In wake of this, the meteorological department has issued yellow warning for heavy rains and flooding across England.
Lorenzo had been a Category 5 storm in the central Atlantic Ocean, before gaining the strength again. Heavy rain is forecast over eastern and northern England along with southern parts of Scotland during the next 24 hours. Warnings have been issued for stormy conditions, particularly for the motorists to take extra precautions while being the roads.
These rains would set in winters quite early in the season, this year. In fact, weathermen are predicting that cold snap could grip the entire country in just next ten-days. Snowfall is also likely later in the month, before November and December which are core months for the frosty weather.
As per the weathermen, this would be the coldest winter for Britain since 1963. This would be the rarest weather conditions in span of 56 years.
After a chilly beginning to October, freezing weather to engulf Britain quite early. As per weathermen, the mercury could plummet significantly just in time of a week.
