Gujarat has been recording temperatures above the normal levels at present. The day maximums are so high that they are settling above normal by 4°C to 6°C. In fact, the minimum temperatures in northern parts of Saurashtra and Kutch are also settling above normal by 4°C to 5°C.

As on February 26, maximum temperature over Ahmedabad settled at 36°C, which is 3°C above normal.

As per Skymet Weather, whenever any Western Disturbance approaches, it induces a cyclonic circulation over western parts of Rajasthan. Humid winds from the Arabian Sea begin to blow over the region as well. Due to this, the maximum temperatures reduce.

However, due to the lack of any such active weather system, maximum temperatures are soaring. In fact, from January 1 to February 26, there has been no weather activity over the state. Moreover, the state is rain deficient by 99 percent.

As per weathermen, there will be no relief from the hot weather and high maximums until the next two to three days as there is no forecast for any weather activity. Places such as Ahmedabad, Amreli, Bhuj, Dwarka, Surat and Rajkot will continue to record above normal maximums. Thereafter, which is around March 3, a cyclonic circulation is likely to develop over Rajasthan.

In wake of this weather system, the sky conditions are likely to become partly cloudy to cloudy between March 3 and March 5. However, the state will not record any rainfall activity. During that time, the maximums might drop by 2°C to 3°C but they would continue to remain above normal and only marginal relief is anticipated. Thus the weather will continue to remain very warm even then.
