Whereas, East Madhya Pradesh is still rain deficient by 24 percent. In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Thursday, Shahjapur witnessed heavy rain to the tune of 139 mm, Khandwa 68 mm, Jabalpur 48 mm, Bhopal 42 mm, Tikamgarh 51 mm of rain.

In the same span of time, Pachmarhi recorded 29 mm of rain, Sagar 27 mm, Khajuraho 23 mm and Khargone 17 mm of rain. Meanwhile, Indore, Dhar, Hoshangabad, and Seoni also observed light Monsoon showers. The hefty showers can be attributed to the well-marked Low-Pressure area which was over the northern parts of the state.

The trough which is extending up to North Madhya Maharashtra across West Madhya Pradesh can also be attributed for the Monsoon showers. Due to these persistent weather systems, we expect moderate to heavy showers to continue over many parts of West Madhya Pradesh for at least next 24 hours. However, the rain intensity will reduce over the eastern parts.

Places like Ratlam, Ujjain, Indore, Dhar, Shahjapur, Guna, Shivpuri, and Gwalior are expected to witness moderate to heavy showers. Meanwhile, the rain intensity over Jabalpur, Pachmarhi, Seoni, Damoh, and Umaria will now reduce significantly. After 24 hours, it is anticipated that the well-marked Low Pressure will move towards West Uttar Pradesh and will weaken gradually leading to decrease in the rain intensity over Madhya Pradesh as well.
