Mumbai weather has been keeping the Mumbaikars happy for quite some time now. The hot and dry weather has taken a pleasant turn and temperatures have come down resulting in happy faces of the residents.

The city which had last received good rains in the month of October opened its rain account after around seven months. On May 13, the maximum city did receive a few spells of evening showers. However, rains did take a break thereafter and dry weather took over.

But, it looked like rain gods did not want to keep Mumbai waiting and the city of dreams began to receive on and off rains during the last few days. The month of June did begin on a rainy note and since then Mumbai rains haven’t stopped to catch a breath.

The last 24 hours have also not been different and the maximum city did witness some good rainfall activity. In fact, during the span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, the Santa Cruz observatory recorded 27 mm of rainfall while Colaba recorded a good 24 mm of rain.

These weather conditions are attributed to the presence of a cyclonic circulation in proximity of Mumbai. Moist winds from Arabian Sea have been increasing moisture incursion resulting in cloud development. Thus, the city has been receiving good rains.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, these typical Mumbai rains will continue and only increase in intensity. Thus, Mumbaikars will mostly be seen strolling along the Marine Drive with hot chai and bhuttas in their hands very soon and that love affair will go on for long.

As for Monsoon, in just about two to three days, the beloved season of Mumbai will soon spread its wings and fly over the city of dreams.
