After a long time, twin low pressure areas have developed simultaneously in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, each on either sides of the coast.
Under the influence of the Cyclonic Circulation which was over the Konkan and Goa region, a low-pressure area has formed over the East Central Arabian Sea near South Konkan and Goa. Its impact is seen over the coast as well. Northern parts of Goa, Northern parts of Coastal Karnataka and Konkan will see fairly widespread rain and thundershowers. Isolated pockets may see some heavy rains as well.
Tomorrow, some activities can be seen but it wont last very long as it will weaken thereafter. In fact, most activities will remained confined over the sea.
Another Low Pressure Area has formed in the Northeast and East Central Bay of Bengal. The Circulation is extending up to mid troposphoric levels and will become well marked, and move northwestward but it has a slow movement.
As it is when Southwest Monsoon starts withdrawing from northern and Central parts, these weather systems get restricted in movement, they slow down and do not go far. Thus, this system will stay around East India covering Bihar, Jharkhand, OdishaWest Bengal and Sub Himalayan West Bengal. Peripherals may give rains over Chhattisgarh and East Uttar Pradesh.
The system will hang around there for 4-5 days, ultimately moving to Sub Himalayan and further going to Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. However, for now, the system will spend a lot of time over the coast, thus, some rains, being heavy in between are likely. Rains will largely be seen over Bihar, Sikkim, North Bengal, Sub Himalayan West Bengal will see rains. Kolkata will also see some rain. Till the time it remains on the coastline and over Bay, Kolkata will be seeing rains.
The moment it crosses coast, and moves northwestward, rains will be confined to Bihar, Sikkim, Sub Himalayan West Bengal etc., but that will only happen after October 3. Thus, during that time, heavy to very heavy rains may be seen over northeastern parts of Bihar, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, which will become moderate on October 6th. Major relief is expected on 7th and thereafter.
