After witnessing some good rains during the last two days, more rains are likely to lash Bangalore though of much lesser intensity.
All thanks to storm Vardah, which is now seen as a low pressure area over Coastal Karnataka and Southeast Arabian Sea. The system may have moved ahead but it has left lots of moisture over Bangalore. At present also, the city is witnessing cloudy weather conditions.
Now, with mercury all set to increase once again, we can expect development of convective clouds over Bangalore. This may lead to scattered rain and thundershowers over the state capital during the afternoon or evening hours.
Further, the system will further weaken and move away from the Indian coast. With this, mainly dry weather will prevail over the city but one or two spell of very light rain cannot be ruled out on Thursday.
Vardah, which had made a landfall as severe cyclonic storm near Chennai, had given heavy to very heavy rains over Bangalore.
In span of 48 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, the city has recorded 65 mm of rain (60.8 mm on Monday and 4.2 mm on Tuesday). With this, the city has already surpassed its monthly average rainfall of 15.7 mm.
60.8 mm of rain is also the second highest rainfall which city has recorded during the time period of 24 hours.
