Madhya Pradesh is at present one of the most rain excess regions of the country. Since second half of June, one after another weather systems have been affecting the weather of the state giving heavy to very heavy rains in most pockets of the state.

In last 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Thursday, moderate to heavy rainfall over most of the districts of the state was observed which is displayed in the table below:

Currently, a cyclonic circulation is over northwest Madhya Pradesh along with the axis of Monsoon trough that is also passing through the state. These are expected to give continuous good rains over most areas of the state.

Moreover, a low-pressure area which is over Jharkhand and adjoining parts is also expected to move towards Madhya Pradesh. This is most likely to bash the state with moderate to heavy showers continuously over East, North and central parts of the state

Some central districts may also receive heavy to very heavy showers for next 24 to 48 hours. Thereafter, rain intensity is likely to reduce but light to moderate spells will continue. A weather system is also likely to move towards Rajasthan and Gujarat leading to decreased rain intensity and cloud cover. Hence two days forth, a rise in temperature of 2-3 degrees is also foreseen.
