Goa is an all season destination but it becomes all the more beautiful and ravishing in rains. And while pre-Monsoon rains have been lashing the state from past four days, this makes it a perfect time to tour the beautiful beaches. Ranging from traces to heavy showers, Goa has been blessed by rains of varied intensity.

However, last 24 hours saw some vigorous rains battering the coastal state. Let's take a look at the rainfall recorded in various districts of Goa in the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Wednesday

As per Skymet Weather, these heavy rains were due to an offshore trough which was running along the West Coast from North Coastal Maharashtra to Kerala.

However as per Skymet Weather, now the offshore trough is expected to shift westwards and away from the coast. Thus a significant decrease in the rain activity is anticipated over Goa and the adjoining regions in the next 48 hours. However, moderate rains cannot be ruled out.

Thereafter, rains will once again pick up the pace. As Monsoon has already made a timely onset over Kerala on May 30, it is on the verge of progressing further. Its commencement over Konkan and Goa region is anticipated anytime in the next 3-4 days, making the state one of the rainiest seasons during Southwest Monsoon wherein heavy to very spells are not uncommon.
