According to Skymet Metorology Division in India, the cyclonic circulation over Bay of Bengal is now marked over Bangladesh, Assam and Meghalaya. Moreover, the Monsoon trough is also passing through the region.
Both the system coupled together will bring fairly widespread torrential rainfall over the region. Intensity of rain will be more over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Sikkim. While parts of Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura will also get good rainfall. One or two places can also record extremely heavy rainfall.
Skymet predicts that the fresh spell of rainfall will not be prolonged one. The rain activity is likely to continue for next 48 hours, thereafter reducing gradually.
