Torrential rain and thundershowers continued to batter West Coast during the last 24 hours, particularly the parts of Coastal Karnataka and Konkan & Goa. Few pockets of the region have also recorded isolated very heavy showers as well.
The ongoing Monsoon rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation in Arabian Sea off the Karnataka and Goa coast. The system has kept the Monsoon current active over the region, giving good rains.
Following are the rainfall figures recorded across the region in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday.
However, rain activity is likely witness slight drop in the rainfall activity during the next 24 hours. According to Skymet Weather, the circulation is likely to weaken and so will the rain and thundershowers activity.
But, presence of an off-shore trough will continue to pound moderate showers with isolated heavy rains all along the West Coast.
Waxing and waning of rain activity is the regular feature during the Southwest Monsoon.
