According to the latest weather update, several places in Madhya Pradesh are recording good amounts of rain in the last 24 hours due a cyclonic circulation. Here are the five interesting facts about the weather in the state on 26th of February.
1. Record breaking rain has been witnessed in the capital city Bhopal. The city has been lashed with 39.6 mm of rain from 8:30 am on Tuesday till 8:30 am on Wednesday.
2. This is the highest ever rain recorded in a span of 24 hours in Bhopal. Before this, the city had recorded 36 mm of rain on 10th February, 1986.
3. The highest amount of rain recorded in a span of 24 hours in the last ten years was on 5th February, 2013 which had broken the previous highest of 10.2 recorded on 10th February, 2007.
4. The average rainfall for the month of February in Bhopal is 12.2 mm but the city has already received more than 41 mm of rain till now.
5. Indore in west Madhya Pradesh observed 11.3 mm of rain in last 24 hours which is the second highest recorded in the last 10 years after 12.8 mm of rain on 10th February 2010.
