Top five facts about weather in India on 13th March

  1. Srinagar, the capital of Jammu & Kashmir recorded -2.0°C as the minimum temperature on Thursday morning which is the lowest observed in the month of March in Srinagar in the last 10 years along with the one recorded on 16th March, 2007. The historical lowest minimum temperature recorded in Srinagar was on 3rd March, 1965 at -06°C
  2. Qazigund recorded a minimum temperature of -1.6°C which is the second lowest minimum in the last decade. The previous lowest minimum recorded in last ten years was on 16th March, 2007 at -3.2°C.
  3. Wednesday night was the coldest in Keylong in Himachal Pradesh as minimum recorded -10°C. The temperature was lower than that in Leh (-8.2°C) and Gulmarg (-7.6°C).
  4. As per the available records with Skymet Meteorology Division in India, Chamba in Himachal Pradesh recorded 2°C as the minimum temperature on Thursday morning. This is the lowest minimum temperature observed in Chamba in last ten years.
  5. Manali in Himachal Pradesh saw minimum drop to -2°C on Thursday. This is the fourth consecutive year when minimum was recorded below zero degrees in March. This is incredible due to the fact that there has been just one instance (15th March 2007 ) between 2004 and 2010 when minimum temperature touched sub-zero level.
