The cold air has gripped most parts of North India as minimum temperatures in several parts of plains have dropped below normal by 2-4°C. Not far behind from being hill stations themselves, the cities in northern plains are observing cold weather as mornings are misty and evenings have become balmier.
The cold weather that started with Punjab and Haryana has now covered parts of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Muzaffarnagar was the coldest on Thursday, followed closely by Amritsar in Punjab and Narnaul in Haryana.
