1. The lowest minimum temperature in northeast region on 18th of February was recorded in Shillong at 2.9°C. It is the fourth lowest minimum temperature experienced in last 10 years in the capital of Meghalaya.

2. Cherrapunji in Meghalaya recorded the third lowest minimum temperature in the month of February on Tuesday at 3.3°C.

3. Cherrapunji also recorded 15.2 mm of rain from Monday to Tuesday. The wettest district on the earth had recorded more than 60 mm of rain on 17th of February which is the third highest rainfall recorded in a period of 24 hours during the month. The 17th February rainfall also exceeded the mean rainfall of 52.9 mm for the month.

4. Sambalpur in Odisha recorded the minimum temperature of 8.3°C on Tuesday which is the lowest minimum temperature recorded in last 10 years. Before this, the lowest minimum recorded was 8.7°C, on 12th February, 2012.

5. Titlagarh in Odisha recorded a minimum of 7.5°C on Tuesday, the all time lowest minimum temperature recorded in the town. Before this, the all time lowest minimum temperature recorded was 8°C, on 4th February, 2005. Minimums at both Sambalpur and Titlagarh are way below the normal for the month of February.
