Top 5 facts about weather in Delhi this February

Weather data available with Skymet reveals some interesting facts about the weather in Delhi this February. Here we are giving top five of those interesting facts.

1. The ongoing spell of cold weather in Delhi has been the coldest in last five years. Delhi has recorded 21.6°C as the average maximum temperature for the first 15 days of the month of February, the lowest in five years. The second lowest average maximum temperature recorded was around 22.5°C in 2012.

2. In terms of minimum temperatures, the first half of February has been the second coldest as the average temperature has settled around 9.3°C. This is the first time in last five years that average minimum temperature has been in single digits in the first half of February after 2012.

3. Delhi has recorded its third lowest minimum temperature this year at 4.6°C on 10th of February. The lowest ever minimum temperature recorded is 2.9°C on 2nd February, 2009.

4. The minimum temperature of 4.6°C on 10th of February this year was the second lowest minimum temperature recorded this winter after 2.4°C registered on 30th December, 2013.

5. Delhi today (14th February) recorded its fourth highest rainfall of 23.2 mm, in a period of 24 hours in last 10 years. The maximum amount of rain (46mm) was recorded on 5th February, 2013.
