The reason for these rains can be attributed to the North-South Trough, which is extending from the central parts of the country up to Comorin area across South interior Karnataka and Kerala.
According to our Weathermen, these rainfall activities will continue in many parts of Kerala, coastal Karnataka and South interior Karnataka for the next 24 hours. Moreover, there are chances of few heavy spells with strong winds in these areas. Thereafter rains will taper in the region
As reiterated by Skymet Weather, the normal Monsoon onset date for Kerala is June 1. However, this time, we expect Monsoon to get delayed by four to five days, which means the Southwest Monsoon will make onset in Kerala a little late. Until then, on and off pre Monsoon activities will continue with varied intensity.
