As forecasted by Skymet Weather, many parts of Delhi and areas of National Capital Region such as Noida and Faridabad received rains and thunderstorm activities with squally winds on Friday evening.
The reason for this weather activity is the presence of cyclonic circulation over Punjab and Haryana. From this system a trough is extending up to West Bengal hovering over Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
There were reports of hailstorm in outskirts of Delhi and Noida. Reports of heavy traffic snarls were also made.
The temperatures did drop in order to make the weather pleasant. This kind of weather activity usually happens around latter half of afternoon or early evening when the temperature reaches more than 40°C.
The early mornings of Friday did witness some rainfall but as the day progressed these weather activity vanished and the day was hot and humid. But as the day sets down dust storm with rain and thundershower started to lash the city.
Good rains are also expected today and tomorrow as well and it is expected that this weather system will intensify resulting in stronger squally winds with rains.
