Weather turned rainy in many parts of India on Saturday (particularly Central and South India) due to moisture laden winds from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. On the other hand, some pockets of Assam in Northeast India received light rain from a Western Disturbance which was gradually moving away.
Rain was not just confined to Central and South India but North India also received rain in the hilly regions like Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand yesterday.
Some of the cities which observed cloudy weather and rain in the last 24 hours were:

According to the latest weather update by Skymet Meteorology Division in India the weather in Central India will continue to be partly cloudy today. Currently the maximums in this part of the country are sustaining between 36⁰C to 40⁰C.
Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal could continue to witness isolated light showers at one or two places, during the next 24 hours.
“March, April and May are characterized by thundershowers which are sporadic in nature. These are generally very light, sometimes moderate in isolated pockets, lasting only for a few minutes and occurring towards the later part of the day, i.e. in the evening or in the night, when the mercury levels have reached their highest point. Therefore, we will see more such activities in the coming days, in many parts of India”, said Purushottam Lal of Skymet Meteorology Division.
