Pune has remained mostly dry for the past few weeks. The city has only received 0.2 mm of rain during the month of April. While Pre-Monsoon showers usually make an appearance over Pune in April, dry weather was a prominent feature during the month.

The month of May also began on a dry note with no weather activity during the first week of the month. However, things have taken a fortunate turn and rain gods have decide to give Pune some rain. The city is likely to receive some rain during the next 48 hours.

A trough has now formed over Madhya Maharashtra which will result in scattered light rainfall over the city. However, these Pre-Monsoon rains will be patchy in nature and only isolated pockets will observe some weather activity.

For the past 15 days, Pune has been observing maximums above the normal levels in the high 30s. These rains may give marginal relief from the hot weather conditions. Since Pre-Monsoon showers usually occur during the late evening hours, minimums may also witness a fall.
